Create your own seasonal greeting cards, coasters, and gift bags for upcoming parties and family time or to give as gifts. This high-touch craft dates to the 15th century in Europe but is enjoying renewed interest in our increasingly virtual world. It is practiced by book artists, high-end graphic designers, artists, and crafters. Use movable hand-set metal and wood type on our vintage clamshell and sign presses to make personalized cards, signs, gift tags, bags, or coasters. Beginners and experienced students are welcome. Materials provided.

Please know the Print Studio is in a historic building with steps.

One and Done Whimsical Christmas Tree

Whimsical Christmas Tree

Sunday, November 24th, from 5 pm to 7 pm 

Ages:  16+ years old

In this one-and-done class, we will use clay slabs to create a unique Christmas Tree. Before construction, we will decorate our slabs with textured fabric. We will also use a bit of colored slip to add some extra decoration. All supplies will be provided.

Holiday Stand-Up Figures (2 sessions)

Wednesdays, November 6th - 13th, from 10a - 1p (November 13th is for pick up)

Ages:  17+ years old

Add some character to your holiday home!  How about a witch for Halloween, or a pair of bears or an angel for Christmas, or a leprechaun for St. Patrick’s Day, or a fish for summer? They’ll make you smile whenever you unpack them and set them out! You’ll learn how to use the tools and cut the glass, and then you’ll put your pieces together and fuse them.  Then your little character will be slumped so that it can stand up.  You can pick up your finished piece the following week!

Holiday Wreath

Holiday Wreath

Ages:  6 - 12 yrs old

Students will create a beautiful wreath that can be hung up and displayed throughout the holiday season! They will decorate the wreath with berries, bows, and pine cones using different techniques and textures. Students will finish the wreath using a variety of colored slips. The projects will then be fired, clear-glazed, re-fired, and ready to be picked up before Christmas.

The Youth Studio is in a historic building that has steps.

Pumpkins are popular squashes that have become an important symbol of Halloween. Students will create two colorful harvest pumpkins with character using a variety of textures and colored slips. The pumpkins will be fired and re-fired and ready to be picked up in 3 to 4 weeks.
