Springerle Cookie Decorations
Sunday, December 15th, from 3:30p - 5:30p
Ages: 18+ years old
Springerle molded cookies are a European holiday classic – especially at Christmastime! Many of the European Christmas markets feature these lovely cookies. The Springerle are made ahead using anise-flavored dough and baked to a very hard consistency. They are formed using traditional, intricate molds, and many of the designs of these molds date from the 16th Century. The instructor will display her extensive collection of molds based on traditional antique designs. She will provide the students with baked cookies that have a hole to allow the Springerle to be used as ornaments. The student will decorate this cookie using food colors that are edible. These will make exquisite, unique ornaments for a holiday!
