Beginner and continued Throwing

Monday evenings  6 pm to 9 pm 

3/9/26-4/20/26  (7 weeks, 3 hours)Acquire and continue to build your skills bwith throwing on the pottery wheel. We will start with basic forms, and progress on to more advanced throwing techniques. You will make functional and traditional forms like cylinders, bowls, cups, plates, and vases. Basics throwing kits are available for purchase for $12

Open studio time included.

Trimmed down fingernails recommended.

Throw it AND Glaze it

In two, two hour sessions learn both the basics of wheel throwing by forming at least one bowl and then glazing it. The second class you will learn about the mysteries of glaze and firing, where art, chemistry and physics intersect. You will chose the glazes of your choice for your fully functional, food, dishwasher and microwave safe bowls. Through out experienced instructors will provide the support and advice you need to be successful. Clay, tools, and glaze firing all provided. Your bowls will ready for pickup at a later date to show off your new artistic skills to all.

Clay Sampler (4 sessions)

Clay Sampler

Learn basic forming techniques in both handbuilding and throwing geared for beginners. We will cover soft and leather hard slabs using the slab roller, coil forms using the extruder, an introduction to  the potters wheel and glazes and glazing.

Using nature as our guide we will create multiple forms in descending sizes to create an attractive and musical chime for your home, patio, deck or garden. Cones can be formed either handbuilt or for those with throwing experience on the wheel.

Mono-print Plates

Mono-print Plates

Create your very own decorative plate using a reverse painting technique called mono-print. Participants will use colored slips to reverse paint a design that will be transferred onto a plate that you will throw on the wheel. The possibilities are only limited to your imagination.

Projects will be bisque and glazed fired and ready for pickup appropriately 2 weeks after the class.

Ages 18 and up
