Introduction to Encaustic

No class charge, but $10 to instructor to cover cost encaustic waxes.

Encaustic art is an ancient art form using beeswax as the medium. Using straight beeswax or pigmented beeswax you will learn about the process of working with melted wax to build layers. You can create straight up paintings or use the beeswax as a collage medium.   You will want to bring some items such as Canvas panels (5x7 or 8x10") or other surfaces to work on, interesting papers, fabric, photos, small lightweight objects to embed into the wax, dried flowers or other natural objects, doodads and all kinds of "junque".  Panels will be provided for you to work

Learn how to make a beautiful  set of 12“ x 12“hymnal page angel wings using the hymn “amazing grace.”

In this step-by-step class, you will learn how to make a hymnal Page cone, after cones have been completed, you will then learn how to “feather in” your 12“ x 12“ angel wings.

Floral centers will be available at an additional cost of $6.99. floral centers are premade in neutral colors. Floral centers are optional.
