"This tour of Old Master paintings at the Toledo Museum of Art asks participants to look carefully at some of the Toledo Museum of Art's most important European paintings, including the finely detailed Morrison Triptych and major works by Italian Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo masters, including Pierro de Cosimo, Peter Paul Rubens, Nicholas Poussin, Rachel Ruysch, Claude Lorraine, and Jean-Honore Fragonard. Figure Drawing (5 sessions)

Tuesdays, May 7th - June 4th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Ages:  18+ years old

This course is about investigating the human form through drawing. Working from a live model, we will use gesture, contour, proportion, volume, and value to understand the anatomy and expressive possibilities of the figure in space. Basic drawing skills will be reviewed, but the main emphasis will be developing a deeper and more individualistic approach to drawing and utilizing the human figure.
