Skip the messy pumpkin guts and carve one that will last year after year! In this hands-on class, you will choose a pre-thrown hollow clay form and transform it into your own one-of-a-kind ceramic jack-o’-lantern. You’ll decorate your pumpkin, add a stem and other details, and carve or paint a face or design to give it plenty of personality.
You will have the opportunity to add colored clay slips to paint your pumpkins before they are fired and finished with a clear glaze or you can choose a glaze color that will be finished for you. Pieces will be picked up the following week. No experience necessary.

Bouquet of fall leaves, acorns and seed pods! In this fun and fast-paced workshop, students will work with molten glass on the end of a wire to create delicate sculptural forms inspired by nature. From flowers to whimsical organic shapes, each piece will come together into a beautiful take-home bouquet. A playful and creative class that’s perfect for all experience levels—and a wonderful way to experience the expressive side of glass.

Leaves of Glass (ACA Nature Series)

Class Description: Building on Beginning Beadmaking skills, create your own glass leaves using sculptural and various decorative techniques. Leaves on a wire as well as off-mandrel and mandrel leaves will be explored.
IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged. Please wear clothing that is not essential to your wardrobe

Learn how easy and how much fun it is to draw on glass using an engraver. Bring a picture from home of scenery, architecture, people or whatever, attach it to the back of your glass, and engrave away. These will be framed, if desired. You will also try etching cream and a stencil on a goblet or glass. You won’t believe what a genius you are and didn’t know it!
