2 Thursdays: November 13th and 20th * 10:00am - 12:00pm 

Learn to use the glass tools and beveled glass pieces to create an original holiday or any day ornament. We have a variety of bevels to select from, add a little stained glass color around the outside, add a little copper foil and solder everything together. Attach a wire to hang and you’re ready for the holidays!

Inspired by Nature Glass Icicle Ornaments

Make your own crystal clear, sparkling glass icicle ornaments inspired by nature!. These are beautiful when hung on your tree, catching and reflecting the lights in all directions. We will discuss basic safety techniques for the studio as well as work in the oxygen-fuel torch using borosilicate glass to practice making loops for the top of the ornament as well as make the ornament itself.   

                                                                                          IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged. Please wear clothing that is not essential to your wardrobe.

Building Floral and Vining Cane for Beads

This class presumes some torchwork glass experience prior to enrolling in the class. We will explore several methods of creating glass cane for drawing leaves, vines and flowers. If there is time, we will make a floral bead of your imagining to learn how to apply the cane once it has been created.

Landscapes in Glass (3 sessions)

3 Saturdays: November 14th 1:00pm til 3:00pm (project meeting) AND December 5th and 12th 1:00pm til 4:00pm. All three classes are required. 

Use crushed glass, glass paints, or just layers of glass to produce a two-stage landscape of a favorite place or dream location. Pieces will be fused/slumped between classes or as a final step after the last class and can be picked up 4 to 5 days after last firing. 

Some glass experience helpful.
