2D Flower Vase with Laura VanCamp

In this class we will be combining the 2D with the 3D! You will create your own vase silhouette in the 2D. We will then add a pocket to the back of the silhouette, making it capable of holding freshly picked or dried flowers.

Get into the spooky spirit by handbuilding a whimsical ceramic potion bottle using a slab template. Add texture, stamps, sculpted details, or decorative decals to make it your own.

No experience is needed. Finished pieces will be fired and ready for pickup approximately 2 weeks later.

Halloween Enamel Earrings with Susan Matych-Hager

This is a make-and-take class. Use a stationary torch to create enameled copper Halloween shapes for earrings. Basic torch safety will be discussed. All materials are included.

IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged. Please wear clothing that is not essential to your wardrobe. AN N95 RESPIRATION MASK IS REQUIRED FOR YOUR SAFETY.

8 Saturdays: October 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st and November 7th, 14th & 21st * 10:00am - 12:00pm 

Ages:  6 - 11 years old

Creative Kids Unite!  Kids Art Club provides art making challenges and the opportunity to work with a variety of media to let imaginations explore and expand. Throughout the term young artists will work with clay, paint, fibers…. It’s always something new!

Please know our Youth Studio is in a historic building with steps.

Glass Fantasy Fish

Building on Beginning Beadmaking skills, create your own fantasy fish bead or off-mandrel stand-alone fish, using sculptural techniques and various lampwork decorative techniques.

Students with a prior lampwork experience will find it helpful but beginners will be welcome.
