Halloween Enamel Earrings with Susan Matych-Hager

Sunday October 25th * 1:00pm - 4:00pm

This is a make-and-take class. Use a stationary torch to create enameled copper Halloween shapes for earrings. Basic torch safety will be discussed. All materials are included.

IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses using a torch must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged. Please wear clothing that is not essential to your wardrobe. AN N95 RESPIRATION MASK IS REQUIRED FOR YOUR SAFETY.

In this fun and fast-paced workshop, students will work with molten glass on the end of a wire to create delicate sculptural forms inspired by nature. From flowers to whimsical organic shapes, each piece will come together into a beautiful take-home bouquet. A playful and creative class that’s perfect for all experience levels—and a wonderful way to experience the expressive side of glass.

Molded Concrete Stepping Stones (2 weeks) with Lee Walsh

2 Wednesdays: September 16th & 23rd * 1:00pm - 2:00pm   

Concrete is a fun and forgiving medium for garden ornaments that can safely be left outdoors year-round. In this beginner-friendly class, you will learn to make a stepping stones from concrete and a very large leaf of your choice. Attendees can bring their own suitable leaf if desired (like hosta, rhubarb, elephant ear, burdock – the larger the better); otherwise leaves will be provided.

Wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty, and bring a pair of waterproof gloves. Stepping stones will be ready for pickup and finishing with a multi-color acid stain (if desired) at the second session
