Perfect for beginners! Learn to shape molten, colorful glass into smooth worry stones—or “touch stones”—using simple, soothing flameworking techniques. This is one of the easiest and most rewarding introductory projects, and you’ll leave with beautiful stones to carry or share.

2 Thursdays, February 5, 12, 10am-1pm

Learn the basics of gold leafing and framing to enhance the tiny treasures you make out of stained glass scrap, trimmed with dichroic glass, frit, stringers, and anything else you can think of. Pop it in the kiln and when it comes out, add even more, such as beads, wire, stones, wood, etc. When you are satisfied with the results, mount in the frame, provided, with the gold-leafed background.  Stunner!!

Beginning Glass Bead Making (three sessions)

Mondays March 2,  9  and 16th. 6-9 pm

Ages: 16 and up

This is a three session class. Make your own glass beads. Basic bead making using a surface mix torch and soda-lime glass rods will be the focus of the class including larger plain beads and creating various bead shapes. Basic design techniques for decorating beads including frit, dots and stringer will be explored. Torch and studio safety will be reviewed. The class will be taught as an open studio that explores topics and techniques based upon the students’ interests with the guidance of the instructor as needed.IMPORTANT: Students taking glass courses must wear natural fiber clothing (i.e., cotton shirt and denim jeans), closed toe shoes and hair tied back and out of the way. Loose clothing that will be in the way of the torch is strongly discouraged.

Materials: $35 included 

Show your love for someone special and create a hand blown heart shaped glass bowl. 

February 7th,  1 pm to 4 pm 

Please wear closed toed shoes, have long hair pulled back and wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt.
