Throwing on a Wheel Kids Camp (5 sessions)

Monday, June 17th - Friday, June 21st from 1pm - 4pm

Ages 10 - 18 years old

Students will start to experience the feel of the wheel. The focus will be centering the clay and small cylindrical shapes, aside from becoming familiar with clay and studio procedures. Students will also work on beginning hand-building projects. They will also choose their favorite glazes for pieces to be glazed and fired.

Teen Summer Camp (5 sessions)

Monday, June 24th - Friday, June 28th from 9 am -4 pm

Ages 12 - 17 years old

Guest artist Sara Sych returns to the ACA to bring various exciting and creative projects to our teens for the first-ever week-long Teen Art Camp!  Student artists will work in 2D and 3D media with Sara and other ACA artists. Plaster mold relief/coil, vase/planter, Painting a still life? Acrylics for a local landscape, maybe? Wet work felting or Needlepoint felting? Stamp making (group stamping), maybe on a hand-sewn tote? How to recycle a T-shirt into a bag? Papermaking/bookbinding? Shrinky dink (on recycled plastic)  and Wire-working earrings? The sky is the limit!

Teens are asked to bring their lunch Monday through Thursday. On Friday, we will host a pizza party. 

Please know the ACA's Youth Studio is in a historic building with steps.

Kids Clay Camp (5 sessions)

Kids 6-12 y/o 

In this class, we will explore clay and learn the foundations of hand-building. Students will be given clay and instructions to create fun and unique creations. Examples of some projects are mini animal sculptures, garden decorations, dishes, and more. Students will be able to decorate their creations with colored underglazes. Their pieces will be fired with a clear glaze to pick up at a later date.

Memory Pillows for Youth

Memory Pillows for Youth

Tuesday, June 11th, from 10a - 12p

Ages:  8+ years old

Participants will learn basic machine operation/techniques and make a memory pillow from a t-shirt or flannel/cotton shirt (labels available if creating one from a loved one). Participants can bring a machine, or one will be provided for use (Mary will reach out after registration). Attendee needs to bring a shirt to use to create the pillow. It can be flannel/cotton or a T-shirt.
